16th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament Is a Huge Success!

with 92 golfers hitting the links. The Fort Golf Course was in spectacular shape and the
weather held for us. After the day on the course everyone enjoyed a great reception and

YOUR IFSA is currently seeking members to volunteer and hold
positions in the organization. If you are willing to attend quarterly
board meetings and participate in the future direction of the IFSA,
please contact one of the current board members listed below.

In March of 2005, U.S. Representative Curt Weldon, (R-Pennsylvania),
re-introduced H.R. 1131 “Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act of 2005.”

This legislation was developed and is with full support from the International Association
of Fire Chief’s (IAFC), Congressional Fire Services Institute, Campus Firewatch,
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Fire Sprinkler Association and
the National Fire Sprinkler Association.

This proposed legislation is of enormous importance to the enhancement of life safety and
property protection from fire.  Under current federal tax laws (IRS), it takes 27 years for a
r
esidential and 39 years for a commercial/industrial property to amortize the depreciation
schedule for the cost of a fire sprinkler system.  If this bill is approved by both houses of the

U.S. Congress, and signed into law, it will enable a property owner who installs a fire

sprinkler system to depreciate its cost over a 5˝-year period. Get more information on
how
to support this legislation here.
